Reduce power consumption and speaker noise issues with new GUDE Switched Power Distribution Units from TIG

Technological Innovations Group (TIG), the leading sales agency for collaborative smart spaces and enterprise communication services, is now offering the new GUDE Power Distribution Unit (PDU) for increased operational reliability through programmable switching delay.

The GUDE Expert Power Sequencer 8112 Series can switch connected devices on and off sequentially via an automatic switching routine and avoids the typical voltage peaks caused by high inrush currents when several loads are switched on simultaneously.

In AV installations which include an amplifier, the PDU now ensures that the amplifier is switched on last, after all the other components. This means that the ‘popping' noises that otherwise occur, which can not only be unpleasant but can also cause damage to speakers and amplifiers, are eliminated.

The 8112 Series can also significantly save on electricity costs by automating the switching on and off of devices with a high standby power consumption.

Steven Dullaert, TIG's Director of Sales comments: "As well as offering energy savings, these new PDUs completely eliminate a common issue that AV integrations face: the damaging and unpleasant ‘pops' and noises caused by current inrush. GUDE's German engineering expertise has made these a thing of the past."

TIG is supplying the 8112 Series as well as the full range of other GUDE PDUs to integrators throughout the EMEA region and can offer them alongside a full range of compatible Crestron products.
